Type of a scam Phishing

They called my work phone number, and asked me if my name, employer, email address (work) and work phone number were all correct, and I said "yes" to each question. When I asked who was calling, they hung up. No personal information was disclosed. My manager said there is a scam going around with people recording "yes" responses and using that as fraud for charges. Filed a police report just in case.
