Type of a scam Debt Collections

Claimed I was sent a letter on 11/5/18 for credit from a hospital bill in November of 2005, never heard of this until the call today and said I would be also getting a notice to go to court and could lose my home or get charged on my paycheck. Contacted an attorney and he told me it is past the time that it can collected and it was a scam call. I did call my local courthouse and they show no such charge or information under my name nor does it appear or ever has on my Credit report. Also, the original number they called me from was a verizon number that could not be dialed.
