Type of a scam Online Purchase

Agreed to purchase puppy for $500. I didn’t have a paypal account and didn’t want to take the chance of losing the puppy. They said to send a gift card instead. I knew better but i wanted that puppy and i sent it.

Then they wanted $900 for a crate charge to be paid to Intercontinental Freight Shippers. I then realized my mistake. I did not pay the $900 but knew i would not receive a puppy or my $500. I was sick and heartbroken.
