Type of a scam Online Purchase

The person had a fake internet profile on facebook and posted on items like iphones and samsungs for sale. When I message the scam artist he or she claimed to have the items in stock and promised to deliver the goods If I paid down half through western Union and pay the rest later as soon as it arrives. After sending the money they convinced me that I had to pay down the rest due to complications during shipping. After talking to the scammer I got really skeptical and began questioning and researching only to discover that the pictures were stolen and his or her facebook profile was fake.
