Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

Received letter of congratulations for being pre-qualified to take part in the Market Research Secret Shopper program. Enclosed with the letter was a check in the amount of $2,250.00. Within 3 days the letter instructs me to deposit the check in my bank account and once the funds are available, I am to go to Walmart and proceed with the evaluation. It is noted that $350 of the check is compensation for my participation in this consumer evaluation. To perform the first part of the evaluation, I am suppose to purchase any item not more than $50.00; noting the cleanliness and professionalism of the cashier, speed of transaction, cashier’s name, etc. The second part of the evaluation is utilizing Walmart2Walmart Money Transfer service at the same Walmart store, by making two $915.00, transfers to their feedback department. The receiver’s names are Timothy Callahan, Magnolia, TX, and Roger Newman, Roanoke, TX. I am suppose to send the Walmart transfer receipts via email and/or text message. I am not to make the cashier or anyone aware that I am carrying out an evaluation.
