Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

Received a letter and check via USPS Priority mail. Check was for $ 1750.00. The instructions were for me to text that I had received the package, then deposit the check. Next, I was to go to Wal-Mart, purchase an item costing no more than $ 50, then send a Money Gram for $1380. Transfer charges of $ 20 included in the check. The balance of $ 300 was my payment for completing the transactions. I was to evaluate the cashiers in both transactions and report how they did with the transactions. Additionally I was to evaluate the cleanliness of the store and the bathroom! I tried to call them, but they refuse to take telephone calls. They only communicate by text message.

PS: Additionally I have scans of the check and an email I sent to them, but am unable to attach only one. If you would like these additional scans, let me know and I can email them to you.
