Type of a scam Phishing

I saw the cat that I like from markscottishfoldskittens.com . I contacted them and they said payment should be made via Zelle last February 12, 2020. I obliged and transferred the kitten fee ($400) and shipping ($100). On the day of the delivery (February 15, 2020), they asked me to pay for a deposit on the thermal crate. They said thermal crate is needed for a kitten during its flight from the origin to Rochester NY. Deposit costs ($984). I obliged again. After a few hours, they ask me to pay ($900) for insurance. I obliged since they are saying the deposit will be returned once the cat arrives. They said the cat will not arrive that day because it was a weekend and there was a trouble in securing insurance documents and the cat will be shipped the following day (February 16, 2020). On February 16, 2020, they again asked me to pay $1350 because NY state is requiring them to declare the kitten as a service kitten. I again obliged. Come 1 pm, I am asking as to where the cat is already and no one is responding in email or phone. That’s when I realized I was being scammed. It took me this much to realize that.
