My father and my brother both received letters claiming that we had a relative that had unclaimed death benefit in the amount 12.5 million we had to email him. The letter also stated that 10% went to him and a charity but the kicker is the letter stated that the remaining 90% was to be split between “us” I want to know who “us” is.

My father and my brother both received a letter claiming that they had a death benefit from a relative with the same last name needed to email him. The letter stated that 10% would be for fees and to charity but the kicker is the remaining 90% was to be split between “us” who is “us”.

Received letter about a Payable-on-death savings monetary deposit of $12,520,000 from Mario, who stated they wanted to partner and requested 10% of the sum. This is a total scam. The person name was my deceased father, don’t be fooled.

The same death benefit scam as others had reported – used my brother’s name which was particularly upsetting since my brother was diagnosed with terminal cancer a month ago and projected to have 5 months to live. I did not respond.

Scam. Sending letter for unclaimed POD (payable on death) deposit for $12M. Using a family name. Saying only asking for 10% to be shared among charity.

Letter was sent to my mother in law claiming 12 million dollars was unclaimed from a man in Canada who has the same last name as her. He wanted to go into partnership with her to claim the money. It was the mans "Permenent life iinsurance policy". My mother in law did contact him via email but did not give out any information. That is when she brought the letter to me to see if it was valid. No money was taken because the scam did not get that far.
