I was looking for a corgi puppy since I lost mine and my boyfriend came upon a website that was selling them for a reasonable amount. I emailed back and forth with the scammer putting aside my better judgment. The day came to pick up the dog and the scammer stopped answering emails, texts, and phone calls. We had my sister-in-law email the website and I’m sure the person realized that my boyfriend and his sister have the same last name because he tried to sell the dog that was put on hold for us but then he emailed her right away and said the dog was on hold. After their exchange, magically, I received an email a few minutes later where the person said they were away and wouldn’t be back for 2 weeks which was odd because we confirmed the day and location for pickup. They said they could still ship us the dog. This was where I put a halt on the exchange since we already gave this jerk $300. He said he was going to take me to court after some choice words I used in an email. I replied to the email that if he was a true and honest breeder he would send me the dog and the rest of the money would be given upon receipt but he never replied to the last and final email.
