Type of a scam Rental

I was searching for apartments on apartments.com when I found an unusually cheap studio that had beautiful furnishings inside. I looked at the address and saw that if was within the same block as where I currently live, I decided to contact them without any suspicion. When I got an email back, I was a little suspicious about their grammar because they had a lot of incorrect grammar usage. They noticed I was interested, so they asked for a deposit of $800 first to secure the place before I even got to see the place because they said there were two people in line behind me for the property. My brother was trying to pay the deposit for me but fortunately they didn’t give enough information to wire the money, making it impossible for my brother to pay. I asked for their phone number so I could contact directly, but they sly-ed their way out and when they finally gave one saying it was her "husband"s number, it was a New York number and it used google voice although they never even answered. Every little thing felt more and more skeptical so I decided to look it up on google satellite from the top to match the property and saw that the given address of the rent could not possibly be the house I was looking at. They kept asking for a screenshot of the wire transfer and pushed the dates of showing me the place. Once I said I would meet them up and I would hand them the check in person, they read the email but never replied. Realizing this was a scam, I looked for different apartments and found a place that looked like the photos were taken by the same person. Feeling skeptical, I contacted them with a different name and email and when I got a reply, it was the same exact email as I had received previously for the property I almost got scammed for, and they used the same name of Marguerite Doyle just a different email. They list the properties all as $800 and they use the exact same email format just switching up the addresses. Knowing that this was their way of scamming, I searched through apartments.com once again and found a third property they listed. The emails I have are: [email protected], [email protected] that I contacted.
