Type of a scam Employment

Contacted by text message on my cell by company rep with request for interview for job (my resume with phone number is online with unemployment office). Was told the first interview would be via Skype. They scheduled the interview for a few hours later and gave me the email / id of the interviewer and instruction to have me initiate the skype session. I did so at the time requested, it turned out to be messaging only ( not a live call).

Spent an hour back and forth answering what seemed like very legitimate interview infornation and questions. (Provided company info, website, background Australia company expanding into USA, work from home while they were establishing buildings).

The interviewer then said that i seemed a very good match for one of the positions and asked that i stay online while she presented my interview to the “board of directors”. This was my first indication causing concern. 15 minutes later she came back and said congratulations you got the job.

Several additional exchanges asked for name, address, phone, email – nothing confidential but at this point i was leery. Finally she told me i would be provided with “a list of approved vendors- go purchase this computer and that software and we will reimburse you via paycheck”. This was the point i was sure it was a scam and disconnected.
