Type of a scam Sweepstakes/Lottery/Prizes

Got a message on Instagram saying I had won their monthly sweepstakes (I play the games on the app). They asked me to verify some basic information (name, address, phone, etc.). I got a phone call from a "Benjamin Jones" telling me I had won $1,000,000 + $5,000 a week for life + a new BMW 7 series. While on the phone he didn’t actually ask me for any identifying information just gave me some details and information about the sweepstakes. He also told me I had to pay taxes on the money and that I wouldn’t be able to receive any of my prizes until I paid the $399 in taxes. I told him I didn’t have it and he said "fine, $100 and our company will help cover the rest" (ok, weird). I didn’t pay it anyway but after I got off the phone I told me boyfriend about it and he sent me a screenshot of their REAL social media pages, I did my research and found out how the actual company would have notified me in the event that I did win, emails, etc. associated with the company. I called them out and told them I didn’t think they were real, they told me my "Tax money" would be fully refunded to me within 30 minutes of paying it – which makes no sense at all. I asked them a series of questions like "why can’t I find the tax form you’re talking about on the IRS website?" and "why didn’t you notify me via email or your verified account?" and they had an answer for everything. I got a text later saying I only had 10 hours to claim my prize. I asked a few more questions and did more digging online based on the information they told me and eventually told them I didn’t want my "prize" and left it at that.
