Type of a scam Debt Collections

Received a recorded message on my cell phone stating that I have an undelivered package and to press one to be connected with a representative. I was left many messages and finally answered one of the calls, I was then connected with a women who said I had an unpaid debt from 2012 with a payday advance company. I was then told that if I paid half of the debt now I would not have to pay the full amount plus fees and attorneys fees. I asked several questions and was sent an email with the information regarding my debt. I paid half that day totaling $188.00 and was told that I had to call the following Monday to pay the other half of the balance. When I called on Monday I became suspicious because the phone rang several times and then stopped and started ringing again. No one answered and I never received a followup call or letter so I called the ScamPulse.com and was told there have been more people complaining about this type of scam. I’ve never been victim to a scam before but this so called company had specific information about me and knew that I had a payday loan in 2012 so it was more believable.
