Two of this company guys contacted me out of the blue with ‘our scout recommended your book’ story some time in May this year with the same/identical email text, requested me to call them for a screenplay proposal for my book.I responded to their emails and included my contact number.Just before the end of July, one of the guys who sent me an email called with a privated line, sold me his story about having met somebody who is very interested in having my book adapted and willing to pay $150K.However,Legaia wants me to pay $4000 while they meet me halfway with $6000 for the screenwriter who will be assigned ti the project. When ‘this anonymous buyer’ pays out for the screenplay, then it’s a 50/50 split. These guys only know me as an author, but not as a screenwriter too!Legaia sent me a ‘sceenplay creation industrial package the same day of the call. After going through the agreement,I found a whole lot of discrepancies. There was nothing about ‘the required fee of $10000 or $4000’,and neither was the 50% split mentioned earlier during the call.It raised a red flag. Then I sent an email requesting clarity on these, and also, that I had sent the agreement to my lawyer. When no clarity was received, that’s when I saw the kind of business they’re into.

I received a call from of them and they said that they are going to convert my book into a “Screenplay” since they received a recommendation from a Literary Agent to have my book turned into a film and they almost got me since it reaches to the point that they wanted me to pay $15,000 and there is an assurance that my book wil be turned into a film. I did some digging about the company and I found out that there is something that isnt right with them so I contacted my Lawyer and my agent to help me with these things.
