Type of a scam Online Purchase

Fiance’ and I were looking to purchase our first puppy, when we stumbled upon legacy beagle pups and thought the prices were reasonable. Upon doing further research of the "breeder" and after first contact with them, we became suspect. We requested visual proof of dog with the current date. They ignored the question and then lowered the price saying if we sent a moneygram with a down payment they would ship the dog and we would pay the rest upon receipt of the dog. Their website also came up on scam alert and they have no means of voice communication. Just a texting app.
