Type of a scam Debt Collections

These people contacted me about a bank of America credit card. They stated I owed them 7,000 and they were going to take action against me. I haven’t had a bank of America card since 2006 as this is 16 years later. A home was purchased and few years ago and this alleged debt was not reflected on my credit reports. The individual on the phone called me ignorant and shouted other things because I stated this was a scam, which in turn frustrated the person. I fear these individuals have bought personal information in an attempt to extort money.
