My mother received a brace with a letter stating "KEY MEDICAL LLC is processing the enclosed orthotic that has been prescribed by your physician." No Physician has prescribed this back brace. I called the company to see what physician has prescribed this brace and was told by Naomi that the number I called (which is on the letter) was only Customer Service for shipping. She could not give me any information as she did not have access to any information. She asked if we wanted to keep it for 30 days to try it out. I told her NO! I told her I was returning it C.O.D along with a copy of the complaint I was going to file with the AG’s Office. She then said she would have it picked up by UPS and gave me a tracking number. My mother is 90 years old. Naturally she wanted to put it on right away. I told her to let me check into it. I know Medicare will not pay for anything unless a doctor prescribes it. If my mother had not returned it and kept it for 30 days to try it out she would have to pay out of her pocket. She cannot afford another bill now. This is a very deceiving letter to be sending out to the elderly.
