Type of a scam Tech Support

Received a call from Nancy Farrel, ID # MAC32110 stating that she was from Apple and that my computer had been hacked. I gave her access to my computer and she ran a diagnostics and I was told that there were no viruses but I was sent to the cyber security center and talked to James Carter. Again I was told I did not have a virus, but that I had no protection and that I could buy protection for 1, 3 or 5 years. Of course the best deal was for 5 years so I purchased it for $630. They wanted me to pay with an electronic check. James said it would take 1.5 hours to install and he would call back when complete. He was at the same phone number with extension 108. This was on a Saturday & I told some friends about it and was told that I was scammed. I went to the bank and closed the accounts on Monday. I called Apple and they checked out my computer and changed my passwords. The following Saturday I got a call on my cell and landline, followed by an email from the company saying that my payment did not go through and that if I did not respond within 7 days they would disable the malware.
