I received a Visa Debit card in the mail with my name on it, which required that I activate the card. The paper work indicated that I had a bank account opened in my name. When I contact the customer service number on the card to inform the company that I did not open a bank account, I was not able to speak to a live representative. I was instructed to email by an automated recording. When I emailed the bank I was informed that I needed to send a copy of my drivers license and last four of my social in order for them to provide me with any assistance. When I told them that I was skeptical, they insisted that I needed to provide that information in order for them to provide me with any assistance and I still have not been able to speak to anyone regarding this matter of identity theft.

This number called me 3 times claiming to be a representative from Chime Fraud department and tried to get personal information from me. The only way to contact Chime is through their chat or email. The last call I called them out and he called me a stupid *****.

Earlier today I received a text message asking if I had authorize the transaction in Georgia I live in Minnesota. I responded back to the message say no and that was that around 615 central standard time I got a call from Chime who’s number saved in my account so that’s what popped up on my caller ID asking again about this transaction I told them no I live in Minnesota I don’t live in Georgia they said OK well since you did not authorize this transaction we are going to close your account and send you a new card which was fine and I’ve done this before so it didn’t sound suspicious but they did ask me to change my password on my account all the while they were sending me text messages to verify my account so I’m confused on how they could do that if they weren’t really Chime. After the initial phone call I went to check my bank account to make sure that that transaction did not go through and that my card was off. When I say that I mean I have the ability to turn my card on and off so I can authorize the transactions that I want to go through my card was off but I noticed that my balance was wrong I look on my recent transactions and someone sent their selves $2000 for Rent! It was a Chime member because their name popped up on my account I did not authorize this transaction I don’t know how the hell they were able to take money out of my account with my account was off and I turned around to call the bank and they said they were closed At 6:40pm they close at 7pm it was nowhere near that time so it’s making me think that someone from Chime did this. I am going to wait till the morning to call to see if they can reverse the transaction but if they can’t it’s gonna be a real problem I’ve already filed a police report and I’m not sure how this works with prepaid debit cards but I need my money back this is complete BS!
