Type of a scam Tech Support

I received an unsolicited call from a Mr. Joseph Lewis with I-FIX PC, while I was at my parent’s home. My father has mild dementia and fear that he may be taken advantage of by these types of calls. "Mr. Lewis" informed me that my home computer had been reporting error messages and that he could "walk me" through the steps to correct these errors. I would have to log onto my home PC and he would give me instructions over the phone. I informed him that I didn’t believe his company was legitimate and requested the spelling of the company along with his location and phone number, he stated his company is an affiliate of Microsoft and that a Google search would support this claim. It did not. I asked that his company not contact me again.
