Type of a scam Tech Support

On the evening of November 30 while I was on the computer a message flashed on saying there is a Virus and I do not have enough Protection and the computer will crash if I do not call Windows at the tel # provided. A guy came on saying he was from Windows and will install Mcaffee soft ware. He asked me for my name tel number email address and went into the computer. I thought I was talking to a Windows agent. He requested a check in the amount of $599.99 which he photographed online and I was to mail it out the next day. I did not mail it because my son who lives in Arizona and is in IT checked the computer and said nothing was installed. He said it was a scam. I am quite stressed out as the scammer has made several telephone calls to my number.

My Lenovo Laptop was a week old when I contacted "I FIX PC". I needed customer support for Adobe Photoshop to see if I could transfer my license the computer. The Google search landed me at a site that looked like Adobe Support but was "I FIX PC". I explained what I wanted and the support person said he could give me a great deal on Gold Plan. I said there was nothing wrong with my PC I just wanted to upgrade my Photoshop license. $199 later they "fixed" my PC. They gave me a trial license which ran out. After two tries I finally got a real Photoshop licensed software. That was 1 1/2 years ago. Since that day my computer only booted-up correctly less than a dozen times. Each time I tried enough things to get it to work. I blamed myself for trying to run three screens from a Laptop. But finally after process of elimination, I finally isolated the problem to either Lenovo hardware or I PC FIX. By flattening my PC back to the manufactures software and settings, then adding back each software package and selected features I’m not back to a fully functional, user friendly, three screen laptop. When I tried to put Photoshop back on an "avscanner.ini" came up. I stopped the upgrade and called Photoshop they said that ini has nothing to do with Photoshop loading correctly. Was this the virus which was screwing up my startusp? On average a couple times a month IPCFIX would call asking if I needed help to fix my PC. Do you think they knew I did? You can find the "company" registered with Google Maps, IFIX PC, and business license 220349419, 31 Kidbrook RD, Brampton, Ontario, Canada. Its are residence.

They called and said that they work for Microsoft and found problems with my pc. They said for $200 they could get rid of all my viruses. So stupid me I gave them $200 and the next day they called and said they found something wrong with my hard drive. And for another $100 they could fix that. I told them I’ll think about it and called a local pc repair shop and told them what’s going on. They said to shut down my pc and bring it to them ASAP! When I asked why they said that this company now has unlimited access to my pc. My local pc place put in an antivirus software and fixed all the virus that were on my pc for only $130. Now I Fix PC can’t get access to my laptop. That was a year ago and even today I still get phone calls from them. I even told them that I no longer have my PC and to stop calling! That didn’t work!! I just want the phone calls to stop!!!
