Type of a scam Phishing

A man with a very thick acsent called me and told me i was selected to receive a grant from some kind of human resources business to receive a check for $14,566.00 dollars to use for anything i wanted. He had my name, but not my correct address. I asked him about 8 times to speak to a supervisor to verify his story and he avoided putting anyone else on the phone. He said he had to verify i was over 18 yo and my name. He asked for a government issued ID number for this. I told him no, and that his story was to good to be true. And that i thought he was looking to scam or as i put it [censored] someone over and he hung up on me. And just now while i was typing this a phone call showed up on my caller ID with the same phone number thaat i m reporting.
