They impersonated Gulf Power and threaten to cut the power off if you do not pay within a half hour and ask you to send cash only due to covid19. Meaning going to CVS or Dollar General and give instructions on how to send them money. Unbelievable. Be aware of the phone number they are calling from. IT IS NOT GULF POWER 800 NUMBER.

call received with recording claiming to be Gulf Power Co. stating it to be an "urgent call" and that I have won a rebate. the recording provided a call-back number- a selection of options followed with the addition of the last option as being "other" which is the option I chose. a male came on the line and asked me for my bank account information so he could process the rebate card. I refused the bank acct info and he became angry at which point I realized it was a scam and discontinued the call

Scammer knew my street address and bill amounts from Gulf Power. Stated my last two payments had not posted to the account, and power would be turned off within a couple of hours if I didn’t make both payments before the shut down crew arrived. I was told I had to pay it by gift card, as other methods would take 24 hours to post.

Someone claiming to be with Gulf Power called & left a message indicating that someone was in route to turn off my power & to call them back at 1-844-244-4150. When I called back, I was put on hold for a couple of minutes or so listening to hold music, another representative then comes on the line advising that my power bill is past due 811.90 & that I need to send them a money order or they will be out to disconnect. When I started asking them questions, they hung up the phone on me.

We received a call stating that our power is going to be disconnected if they didn’t receive payment. Knew the exact amount of our bills for previous months. Stated we had to pay the two months and $500 deposit to keep from our power from being disconnected and it had to be cash and gave us a location near us that we could pay the payment, which ended up being CVS. Stated if we signed up that we had to pay for 6 months online, so we had to call them to get approval when we are there so he could get it setup.

Person identified themselves as David Fuentes and said he was with Gulf Power and asked if we’d gotten a disconnect letter. Said he couldn’t give the amount but could only verify the address of our business. His accent was thick and made it difficult to understand. He directed me to call the "financial Dept" at 1800-276-5815 and said to use extension 100. He said his extension was 110 and that his identification number was XXL1000735-5. When I called the number the person said his name was Tyler Jones and his direct line was to call the 1800-276-5815 and use extension 0019. I was to go to the closest payment location which he put me on hold and said that the family dollar just up the road was the location and I asked if there was a payment kiosk there and he said that it had to be cash to acquire the Express Payment card for 325.95.
