Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
Consumer was called by an entity called the Grant Appreciation Association (315-203-3847). The representative (Alice Daniels) told consumer that she had been approved for a $9000 grant, but that she would have to go to a local retail store (Kroger/WalMart) and purchase a Grant Receiving Card and then activate it with $200 dollars of her own money, after which she could call a second phone number (543-276-7891) and she would receive the rest of the money.
She also spoke with a representative named Mark Wilton.
