Type of a scam Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill

*** *** *** *** received an emailing, asking to renew and now pay for our ‘ Federal SAM Registration’. Since this service has been provided for free one of our employees ended up calling GP&M to better understand the situation. She was speaking to a man who said his name was James VanDyke. He told the employee, starting this year, the service will include a fee and that *** *** *** *** needed to pay before the expiration date had passed. He had fairly personal information including CAGE codes, our point of contact, and our entire application from 2015.

When the employee called the company, GP&M was able to pull up and discuss detailed information from the previous years application.

Believing that this wasn’t a scam, the employee ended up paying GP&M the fee of $599.00.

After discussing with a supervisor, the employee and supervisor deemed that the email was a scam. They ended up calling the company back and requesting that the money be refunded. GP&M stated that they would return the Visa transaction. However *** *** *** *** has yet to see the money be refunded. We will be checking our records daily.

The email was originally sent to *** ***, who is the owner of *** *** *** ***. He ended up forwarding on the email to one of his employees, as he too, believed it was a real thing. I have attached a PDF copy of the email, the owner received, from GP&M.

There are two phone numbers associated with the email. I will attach them both here since the below information only has room for one phone number.
