This website offered German Shephard puppies for sale. After some back and forth communication I agreed to purchase the puppy. The “owner” gave me his Zelle information and said as soon as he received confirmation of the payment he would begin making arrangements for delivery of the puppy. The next morning he contacted me and let me know that he had dropped the puppy off at Pet Express Shipping and that they would contact me with all of the flight information. The first email I received from Pet Express stated that due to the current weather the crate that had been supplied was not adequate for transport but that I could rent a crate from them. The quoted me a price and said that upon return of the crate I would be refunded 95% of the fee paid. I was given a Zelle account and sent the funds. A few minutes later I received a second email from Pet Express stating that I needed to provide insurance for the puppy. At this point I contacted Glorious German Shepard’s and inquired about Pet Express being legitimate and why I was not informed of these additional costs. I also googled Pet Express Shipping via their 800 number and was informed that they only did international pet transportation and that they did not have any puppy being shipped that day. I continued to receive emails from Pet Express about them urgently needing confirmation of the insurance purchase or they could not ship my puppy. I asked them to provide me with information about the flight. All they would give me was that it would be on American Airlines. I contacted American Airlines cargo shipping and explained the situation. The attendant said that it was highly unusual for the shipping company to not confirm the flight information with me. I sent an email to both Glorious German Shephards and Pet Express stating what the attendant had told me. Pet Express emailed back right away saying that they could not book the flight until they had the insurance paperwork. I inquired with the attendant about this and she informed me that the information they were giving me was false and that I should stop all communication, not send anymore money and report. Both companies to the BBB. If I hadn’t gotten suspicious I would have been out over $3000.00. I reported this information to my bank as well as fraud to see if I can recoup my money.
