I was online searching for a mastiff breeder and came upon giantmastiffs.com. I reached out and they texted me back (not unusual, I’ve adopted several pups via text). After I answered a series of questions (not unusual, asked if I’ve ever had this type of breed, children, living environment for the puppy), I sent payment in the amount of $1235 via Zelle payment. Once I sent confirmation of transaction, communication ceased, no contract sent. I started to do some research and noticed a few disturbing things – same pictures of puppies on other sites. I requested the funds back via Zelle and through texts. Even offered to pay a deposit, pending finding out if they were legitimate. The person assured me the money would be sent back. After a few hours of not receiving the refund, I called to find out my number had been blocked.
