Type of a scam Government Grant

I was friended on FB by a friend of some mutual friends. He then sent a FB messenger note asking me if I had heard the good bees about GGF. He went on to tell me about an assistance program that sent him over $50,000. I looked it up online and saw it was a scam. I conversed a couple times before I realized but gave no other info. I unfriended the account before he could ask for money or info.
