Type of a scam Utility

A representative of this company called me threatening that my electricity would be cut off tomorrow if I did not engage them as my electricity supplier. They claimed to be calling from my local electricity company, Commonwealth Edison. The caller asked for lots of personal information including my address and phone number, last four digits of my SS # and my account number for current utility. I have reported them to the IL Attorney General’ s office and told all my friends to avoid them. Although I did not engage their services, I find them to have shady and unethical business practices using with strong-arm tactics.
