Similar scam, “found my resume”, first contact sends email through Arish Costa but is named “Shelly”. First thing that was odd, they called me on a Saturday. Second, the company is represented in Seattle but the number is actually in the San Fernando Valley. Follow-up email, the same, asked rate, agreed on a rate and in follow-up email, rate was incorrect. Called and stated that their manager, Arish, would contact me shortly. Once he called, was very pushy and impatient. Was told that Amazon had specific certification requirements for Scrummaster. All seemed fishy. Between typos and the rapid pace that Amazon wanted to talk to me. Also, this crazy statement about the job and why it was being created sounded more like propaganda than an Amazon business model. A cousin works for Amazon, I touched base with him before doing anything. I wasn’t about to drop $599 because of an offshore representative before I even had a job offer, let alone an interview.

My cousin told me that Amazon does not use third parties. To the best of his knowledge, it is all in-house. We also discussed the interview process, the scam folks were good and had that part down also. The short is, we couldn’t find any job posting based on the job description Front Group provided. They were very specific about some details, work remote, work UK hours 1 day a week, travel to Seattle once a quarter to work directly with the team there. Scary detailed but the grammar in the emails and on the Front Group website was HORRIBLE. Immediate red flag. I wrote back to Arish asking for a job req or job ID. He provided one, for some kind of Quality Assurance for Alexa job. I immediately for the correct req for the Sr IT Manager job. Have not heard back since. Typical social engineering, dangle a carrot, add pressure, take the money and run. I didn’t fall for it and was in the process of doing due diligence when clearly, the scam was exposed. “Front” Group Staffing, their address in Seattle is even for a “virtual” business.

I received a called from a recruiter Arish Costa with Front Group Staffing regarding a Senior QA position with Amazon. He sent me the job description but the one requirement was the applicant needed to be Scrum Master Certified. He tried to convinced me to enroll in a class with https://www.trainingacademy.ca/courses/scrum-master-certification-basic-package/

This class is $499.00.

I noticed a misspelled word in the email and also noticed a difference in the salary range. I google the name and realized this was indeed a scam.

Thanks ,

Patrice R. Baker

Below is a copy of the email for the Amazon job. A female named Agnes calls to follow up every day. She has a very strong Indian accent. Seems very nice on the phone, but is very insistent that I respond the Arish Costa email and sign up for a Scrum Master certification class.

Similar experience. They called saying they had an IT Director role at Amazon but it required a Scrum Master Certification and sent me several links to register for classes. I called one of them and knew instantly that it was a scam and it was. Arish Costa. Same fake name..LOL. Some one should investigate.

Alejandro – Aug 11, 2020

I just received a call from Arish Costa today (august 11 2020)saying that they needed to fill a job at amazon for a project manager position which of course I hadn’t applied to. He told me that he had set up an interview for next Tuesday with the hiring manager but they will need me to get a scrum certificate. He emailed me three websites where I could get the certificate from which costs over $1000 for this certification. I could smell a scam so I did my investigation and found out it is indeed a scam. So glad I didn’t fall for it.

Similar scam, a couple of these fools have been harassing me all day. They almost had me, but my card declined for some reason and the card company said the website has been blacklisted. Same caller Arish Costa recruiting for Amazon for an IT Director Position and that I needed a Scrum Master Certification. I was hesitant as I hadn’t applied for that particular position and the calls I received from them were really odd and inconsistent.

Dustin – Jul 28, 2020

Was told the same thing from Front Group Staffing, said I needed to sign up for Six Sigma Green Belt certification. Gave me 3 sites to choose from, with of course trainingacademy.ca being the cheapest one by far. Obviously trying to steer me to that, so I checked into that site and lots of people being scammed by it. Glad I didn’t fall for it. Sucks that people would take advantage of unemployed people.

Type of a scam Employment

On July 20, 2020 I recived phone voice mail from a guy name Arish Costa claiming he was a recruiter from Front Group Staffing and he was looking to fill a Senior Project Manager for Amazon. I called him back and he explained the requirements for the job, the pay range, and so forth. After a brief conversation, he said he will send me the job description, asked me to review the job description and that he would call me back to discuss out it for a fit in skill sets. He went through the bullets of requirements and confirmed if I was OK with the requirements and qualifications which I told him I was. Then when came down to the certifications he confirmed if I had PMP and Scrum Master Certifications or "in progress", I said I had PMP but not Scrum Master, but then he said it will be okay if I don’t have the Scrum Master but if it requires to obtain interview with Amazon, would I be willing to get Scrum Master Certification. I said I would and he said he will get with his senior recruiter for approval to proceed and that if approved I would need to enroll for the class right away so that the interview can be scheduled. I agreed and told him I would do it from LinkedIn Learning. He said LinkedIn will not be accepted and that he will provide me with recommended vendors to enroll for the class. He sent me a list of training vendors and then called me back to say his senior recruiter agreed to set the interview upon confirmation I have enrolled for the class. I looked through the list and selected the cheapest class from online vendor called "Training Academy", cost $550 dollars for a training/certification package. I went ahead and register and sent the recruiter the confirmation of the registration. He called me back to confirm my availability of interview on Monday, July 27 at 11 am Eastern Time, which I’ve agreed. He said I will hear back about more information about the interview, but I did not hear back from him. I e-mailed back but no reply so I started getting suspicious and started researching and found out scam reports from ScamPulse.com and other website about different complaints for the same job scam with the same job description from Amazon. Thus, I am following ScamPulse.com’s recommendation to report the scam to FTC. I hope these criminals can be dealt with in a manner they deserve, along with the online training vendors they collaborate with.

Type of a scam Employment

I received a job recruiter call from Arish Costa with Front Group Staffing claiming to be searching for a Sr. Program Manager position open with Amazon. This sounded suspicious, so I searched the company on LinkedIn and did not see any company by this name or a recruiter with this name. They have a website that looks good, but I searched the company mailing address on their email and site and see it goes to a recruiting firm under a different name. There is no way Amazon would be using a no name company with no established business presence. I see another post online saying they had a similar call from Arish but says they were a male and I spoke with a female. They say the person tried to get them to sign up for required training in order to apply for the job.
