Type of a scam Government Grant

The scammer sent me a message on Instagram under my cousins name. Saying she lost her phone. The scammer asked me if I have heard from FPWA grant, that she was given the information from her friend, she sent $2,000 in eBay gift cards and she received $80,000.00 by FedEx courier within 6 hours. Had to fill out forms for legitimate and legal forms. The scammer gave me the name Mr. Morris Alton with phone number 1-402-266-6938.

I was contacted by a man named Dan Vargas, on Facebook. He said he got some free money – a Grant. It was for home repairs, school, Bills etc… They wanted me to send them a picture of my liscense, front and back. The Attorney’s name was Sandra. We kept pausing, and she would text something like, your missing out on money’s that belong to you. I was getting nervous and she picked up on that. Then I started asking her questions. I got the same type of response. It wasn’t very professional, she said BYE to me 2 or 3x’s. I checked with the BBB, and came up with nothing – I’m not done investigating. The Federation of Protestant Welfare Agencies was the name she gave me..

I was having a conversation with a friend Michael Robinson and he was telling me about a grant FWPA. I he sent me the website and the agent to speak with. The lady’s name was Alicia Bush Dull Sr or at lease that was the name that was used when she contacted me through Instagram message. She asked me what I needed the money for. I explained to her that I was having financial issues she ok. She said that I was approved for the grant and I had to choose my grant amount. During this process I was still talking to my friend who had told me about this and he was telling me that he had to do the same thing . So I pick the amount of 20,000. She told me that I had to pay the taxes and clearance fees which was $500.00. Again I was still communicating with my friend and he said that he had to do the same thing and that he would help me out with $300 and I had to get the remaining $200 dollars. Trusting his word because it was confirming what she was saying I did that. She said that I had to buy 5 eBay cards a hundred dollars each and scratch off the back and send it to her. I did that. Then she said that I had got the grant and it would be on its way. About an hour later she then told me that I had to send $400 for certificate money and that the money would be there in two hours. She assured me that this was legal and that it would be here in two hours. I spoke with my friend again and he said that he had to do the same and that he forgot to tell me. So I sent the money. She said that it would be on the way. I waited and waited around four am this morning I received a message from Alicia stating that the delivery driver was in an accident but they would send the money and that’s when something didn’t feel right. I went to her page and tried to contact her and her page was there anymore and she couldn’t be found. I tried contacting Michael Robinson and he is not answering.

Friend called me asking me if I sent him message on FB messenger about getting $ from the FPWA Grant program. Told friend NO it is a scam.

Now I am receiving messages on his messenger account saying that he recieved $80,000 grant and wanting to get me their online agent so I can text them to apply. Very suspicious. Called friend and verified with him that same scammers are trying to "get me". Friend also notified all his FB friends that his account had been hacked.

Hey. Mama just called me and said she got a friend request from a family friend. She accepted. Mama sent her a message asking how she was and how her family was. Mama said that she said "wonderfully now". Mama said what do you mean and you didn’t say how the kids are. Then she said I applied for a grant that was texted to me and I got 80,000 dollars. She said I’ve already got it. She said it’s free money from the government for people who need help. Mama said well my daughter is needing help because of her heart and fainting and they won’t let her drive so she’s not able to work. The message came back saying she needs to apply soon as possible because there is only a limited supply. Then "Ann" said I can apply for you but if you want to do it we only communicate by text. She gave mama the number. It’s FPWA 1-323-648-2178. I told mama that it seems like a scam and somebody’s hacked her. I looked it up on the internet and it says they are scamming people. The government doesn’t communicate by text, they only call or mail. I contacted the ladies daughter in law and she said they already knew she had been hacked. I don’t think they reported it.
