Type of a scam Employment

I received an email asking if I was still interested in an Administrative Assistant job that I applied to. The email was vague, but the email address looked familiar because of the name of the company. I had applied to a similar company awhile back. I responded that I was interested in a position. The response I received was from a "Cheryl Ladd" who said they wanted me to work remotely at first and then in an office as a "Front Desk Office Assistant Person." The person said that the pay was $600/week for 2-3 days worth of work and I would be paid by a cashier’s check. I immediately realized that it was a scam and did not communicate any further.
