I initially received a message from +1 (281) 702-0171 that read: Wholefoods is beginning an exceptionally huge research survey in your area. This Survey happens each week, so we have to select shoppers to function as a store evaluator. You will get $400 on every task. Every task requires 20-30 minutes of time at the store in addition to time to review reports. I received via USPS Priority Mail — a check for $2,950. Check no. 81782 from Bank Name: Kiewit Infrastructure West Co. Located 3555 Farnam Street, Omaha, NE 68131-3302. I also received an one page instruction titled: CUSTOMER SERVICE EVALUATION TOOL (CSET).
The letter starts off with: Congratulations for your achievement! It instructs me to deduct my commission of $450 and then visit 2-3 stores and purchase $2,500 in NIKE gift cards. Among the stores to purchase these cards were: Publix, Walgreens, Home Depot, Safeway, Target. I couldn’t read them all because the copy was poor and grainy.
I have copies of email that I sent. However, "Ray Richmond" requested that I correspond via text at 1 (380) 201-2686.
His grammar and spelling was off. It was all a clue. I immediately googled and confirmed that it was a scammer. He continued to text me asking if I was a the bank yet and if I had completed my assignment.
Received fake check for $2950 asking me to purchase 5 $500 Nike gift cards and scratch off back to send photo of front and back. This was supposedly a secret security assignment.

Received a "Priority Mail" flat rate envelope in the mail early today; 12/16/2019. After reading the instructions, it was obviously sketchy. So i did a bit of research. It didn’t take long to find other stories of the same thing that we got.
