I received this letter and totally ignored it as being a scam but decided to report it.

We received letter in mail from a Paula Martinez from Financial & security institute in Barcelona. This letter stated that a person with our last name has died and left $16,700,000 in a savings account there and we need to contact her at the above number to get the money. She goes on to say that she will take 50%, we get 40%, and she’ll give 10% to charity!

There was no return address on the envelope which immediately raised a red flag, since financial institutions always have one. Also, the envelope it came in had a ‘office depot’ logo on the inside!

I just wanted to get the word out so that no one falls for this scam. Thanks.
