Type of a scam Government Grant

Supposedly agent of US Gov’t called me from Washington DC and offered me a $9000. Federal one time grant. Gave me a grant # and told me to call phone # in CA. Agent in CA told me to get a government activation card and call them back with the #; on the back of the card so they could transfer the money to the card for my use. . I called local store and asked what this card was; they had never heard of it. Needless to say, I didn’t do it.

Two days later, another couple called and gave me the same splee.

All parties were foreigners. Almost asked for an American interrupter.
