I received a phone today, claiming to be from Federal Reserve Bank of NY. The caller had a heavy accent. He stated that I won $9000 grant that I did not sign up for. He said that he could deposit it into my account but I would need to call back on 315-364-1722 or they would wire the money. I did not give him any information. This sounds like a scam to me and I wanted to warn others.

The Federal Reserve Bank hereby contact you in regards to the ongoing transaction of $22.5m.We received an email from one DAVID CHARLES DINARDO who presented a Country Postal Address name and a telephone number with a resident address, saying that you gave him the power of attorney to make claims of fund on your behalf said that you are not able to complete the transaction any more.
You must get back to us immediately before we instruct him to pay for the required charge, which is a mandatory fee being for the Security Keeping fee of your FUND and have the package delivered to your home address without any delay or problem. Got a phone call from a lady who goes by the name of Ester (foreigner), claiming I was picked for a Federal Grant to either pay for furthering my education, pay bills and I stupidly was quick to say "pay bills" as being a single mother of 2… it’s rough! So Ester says well you Stephanie have $9,700 waiting just for you…. then she goes on to well in order to get your money there are transfer fees of $250 you need to send through money gram and that I’ll get the $250 back so a total of $9,950 will be transferred. Sounded legit at the time. Thinking of everything I can pay off and catch up on with my bills. So I once again STUPIDLY went to my local Walmart which has a Money Gram and transferred the $250 to Robat William in Alanta, GA. This Lady stayed on the line through this the whole time of the transaction… Then this guy Nelson Veza claimed to be the manger of the Federal Reserve Bank of NY, starts to deals with me and I am still waiting for my money gram of $9,950 to be wired to me. Nelson claims that the hold up is the people in front of me! It6 will be quicker to do it on credit card, I said no and he says in your bank account? I tell him my bank and my account number on the phone but he never took the routing number. That made it funny then to me. This went on for the rest of Friday after noon. Nelson says after 3 hours goes by and says the problem is that I don’t have insurance… I said what, what insurance! he says PPI insurance on the big lump sum of money I am to be getting. I said how much and how to do that. he claims I needed to pay him $995 now to receive this money! I now knew that I was a for sure victim of a scam and I tried to tell him to wire me back my $250 and give it to someone else, trying hard to be polite but that didn’t work! I then told him what I felt about this and told them off. Now remind you I now have 3 numbers of theirs and I still 3 days later harass them and they talk dirty to me sexually and then told my son what he is going to do to his mother and so on! One of them calls back No caller ID (blocked) and told me he now wants all from me in a sexually voice and he keeps going! So I plan on someway somehow to find these lowlife scammers and press charges and sue for not only me but for everyone that fell victims to this ordeal! I will still call them and tell everyone of them that answers the phone what I think of them. I will get my moneys worth out of them somehow! Life Lesson Learned! as now I have a negative balance in my bank account. I had no business at all to take this money out and do what I did! I do cry everyday for the fact that I hate myself for falling for this! Depressed? yes I am but they didn’t get me like the others. I can bounce back.
