Type of a scam Government Grant

Got a call saying I had been selected to receive a government grant that could be used for any purpose, just make sure you tell the administrator what you would use the money for… they did not want anyone that would misuse the funds. I was then told to go to a Walgreens, Walmart, anywhere I could get an eBay gift card. I would have to get 2 of them totaling $400.00. They said they would stay on the phone until I got them. Once I get them to read the number on the back, then they would give me $9,000.00. Once the 1st transaction was done, I was told to do the same thing twice more for different reasons. I was told that I would receive the cash from Walgreens, then that it was to much to receive over the counter, I would have to provide a debt card number…. then the money would be transferred into my account. The guys name was Sam Martin.
