Type of a scam Government Grant

I received a phone call from a man who said I was one of many (1500 people) who was selected to receive a government grant because I paid my taxes on time, I have not filed for bankruptcy and was a loyal U.S. citizen. He asked how I wanted to receive my money and gave me choices such as cash in hand, direct deposit, money on my credit card – I chose cash in hand. Then he asked where I would like to receive the money and gave me choices such as Walmart and I can’t remember the other places. I chose Walmart. I was then given a number to call (202)525-6066 and a confirmation number. I would be told how to acquire the money after speaking with the Transaction Officer.

This was the 3rd phone call I had received in 3 hours. The first phone call I was in the car and she said she would call me back since I couldn’t write any information down (still waiting on that call later this evening). The second phone call they hung up as soon as I answered (assuming they realized I had already been called). The phone numbers in the order received are 202-645-8571, 202-654-0457 and 202-654-4320 all showing as a Washington D.C. number.

Received a phone call claiming to be from a grant agency, claiming I qualify for a free grant of between $5K – $200K. The instant I said I didn’t have time to talk and asked if I could call them back the connection was cut.
