Type of a scam Phishing

I got a call that is so glaringly obvious that it is a scam: the robo lady was a computer that probably had the words typed in – definitely not a recording of a persons voice.

Type of a scam Government Grant

I received a voicemail message stating that the Federal Government was contacting me because they had done an RRA survey in South Carolina and I had been chosen to win a grant for $11,000. The message said that I was to call a number. I called the number and a foreign sounding man answered the phone with the name Michael. The man asked if I would like to give them my credit card number, bank account, number, or get the money through Western Union. I said Western Union. The man then said I would need to go to the nearest CVS and buy a credit card. I asked him why and he said to buy an iTunes card. I knew all this was a scam and did not follow through with the request. The man also gave me a local contact number of 864-242-5052, which is the number to my local BBB office.

Type of a scam Phishing

This scammer originally called my son’s phone to say that the irs was going to put my 11 year old in custody. I called back; I was hung up upon. I made about 10 calls back before someone finally answered, and was met with obscenities and propositions. This was not an isolated person, as I heard an entire office in the background. Thank you for looking into this.

Type of a scam Debt Collections

I just received a call from (469) 351-5027.

They said, "We are calling from the Federal Govt. concerning a Law Suit against you." They proceeded to ask for my name, address, phone #, and SSI #.

I didn’t give them any information & kept asking to speak to someone who was born in the USA. (Due to Very Very Thick Foreign Accent).

When I wouldn’t give them the information & proceeded to keep asking the guy on the phone questions. He said, "Look you Dumb ‘[censored], we are going to come and arrest your A** unless you take care of this now!"

I said, "What did you just say to me????" "Let me speak to your supervisor"

He said, "Look Mother [censored]er you obviously know this is a scam. So, stop calling here or we are going to track you down and KILL YOU!"
