I’ve received this call before and I believe I spoke with the same man. The first call, I almost gave the man my credit card information, until he stated that "the bank will refund you on the spot for any unauthorized transactions." -which was when I realized it might be a scam. He claims they will help with Google listings and correct all of the information for our business in the search engine. We are currently working on our business marketing, hence the reason we were almost fooled. I asked them to send me an email and he said he could only send me an email with a receipt of a credit card transaction and i hung up.

The second call, about a week later, I immediately explained that I was uncomfortable giving them any information until I received an email with their business information and after hanging up I received an email from a generic Gmail account with no business logo, a typo in the business name under the man’s name and a few paragraphs explaining how Google listings work with the bottom paragraph stating that "Once claimed & verified our qualified engineers will manually meta-tag your business listing to every service you provide, as well as, any product you sell. So then, when somebody will type those services or products into Google.com your business listing will display just like the pictures above. All key words are included in the enrollment fee.

There are no extra charges for the amount of key words you use."

I’m still completely unsure of this business tactic, because I have claimed, verified and am currently managing my Google business listing from the Google website itself, for free.
