Type of a scam Tech Support

I was looking up a recipe for jalapeno jelly on google, when my computer locked up and a bright blue page said viral information on it and then a white box with phone # 1-866-217-8835 showed up several times in the box and told me not to shut down or restart my computer but to call that # right away to remove the virus. A woman with an accent answered the phone when I called the # and she told me she was a Level 5 technician to help me with the virus in my computer and that this was case # 1411. She took me to Wikapedia page with Identity Theft definition on it and read through it with me. After reading it she told me that my protection, AVG, on my Windows 10 wasn’t enough and took me to that page showing me that it was only good up to Windows 8. She suggested that I need Norton protection or her protection. She pulled up a note page with information on it–yes’s and no’s and told me to click on yes. After I did, she now controlled the mouse on my computer. She wrote down information on a ‘help’ note pad on desktop and wanted my full name, address, e-mail,and phone #. She then stated that she would email me some information. She stated that this would all cost me $199.99 and wanted my credit card #. This is when I ran to my son’s room and asked him to look at this–he immediatly deleted the note page and everything else she was putting on my computer and grabbed the phone and told her off–she was offended. That was the end of it. Now I can’t sleep and worry every second of the day and you guys are busy on the phone. I feel humiliated, degraded, demoralized, embarrassed, and frightened. I’m roporting this to you because my friends told me to.
