Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

Unfortunately in this business you come across scam artists like the owner of this company. John Gilbert runs EKG Construction and EVERYTHING he says is misleading and a lie. He purposely does most if his work out of town in order to be able to set up a temporary bank account specifically for the job he is working on, hires local contractors, even asks for assistance in obtaining permits, then skips town never to be heard from again. He did finally send payment for the job months later, after multiple excuses, but the check was bad because he had already drained the account. During the project he hardly shows up to the job, he stated multiple times "he over slept". Since the bad check was received John has not returned any other calls or emails to resolve the issue. The work took place in February/March of 2019. Their are multiple reviews on his company stating he has done this before and I am concerned it will continue as I believe his company is not a legitimate construction company but rather a scam.
