Total money lost $25

Type of a scam Identity Theft

Our Massachusetts license was stolen by a thief who stole my wife’s pocketbook. In an attempt to determine what needed to be done to report and replace this with the Massachusetts RMV, my wife conducted a google search and one of the top results was this website. The setup of the website is very deceiving and unfortunately, due to my wife’s distraught state, she did not realize it was a scam site until she had already submitted our credit card information for what she believed was license replacement services. We were charged $25 for a PDF document that provided separate hyperlinks to the RMV sites for various activities. We were deceived into providing our personal information, including name, email address, personal address, telephone number, birthdate and credit card information.

This is most definitely a scam!!! We have cancelled our credit card and reported the charges as fraudulent to our bank.

Type of a scam Online Purchase

This organization has the misleading title "DriversLicenseServices" and on its home page offers services with names such as "Renew Driver’s License", "Reinstate Suspended License" and so on. Yes, it has a popup when you enter the site which, if you read it carefully and have a fairly high education level, makes clear that it’s not the official DMV site–but my teenager was fooled, and asked me to help him purchase a service. I was on the point of doing so, but I think, managed to cancel in time. I notice the site also has a Money Back Guarantee (in small print at the bottom of the About Us) page. The company has clearly thought about how to cheat people while technically staying within the limits of the law. A driver’s license is a necessity for many, including people for whom English is a second language, people with cognitive impairments, and people who are not well-educated–they may well be fooled out of their hard-earned money by this site and not be able to figure out how to get it back.
