Type of a scam Tech Support

A company called Dream Tech LLC tried to say we owed them $6800 for tech support. We have never done business with them but they have our personal banking information. They told us they would take that amount from our account today. After my husband argued with them, they reduced reduced the amount to $2800 because they said we qualified for a Sr Discount, a military discount and some other discount.

Initial means of contact Phone

Initially the scam began 2 years ago with a loud message on my desktop that my computer was in danger of viruses and was told to call the number to resolve the issue. They claimed to be affiliated with Microsoft.
They gained access to my computer and requested a live check for $740 for their services. I sent the check and then realized that it was probably a scam.
I took my computer to Best Buy to have it wiped and thought my problem was over.
I received a phone message 2 days ago that they were going to bill me $6800 for three years of maintenance for the network protection they have been providing me

6/9/20 My father has been scammed today by Edward Campbell (Win Security Global System): saying he owes $700 or $6,000 (cancellation fee) to Malwarebytes (his lifetime anti-software program). Mr. Campbell took over his computer to upgrade his system and ask for him to send a check to the above address in Los Angeles. I called the number he was given above and was told by a gentlemen that Edward Campbell at extension 2305 was gone for the day .I checked the 1-877-2980595 on-line and saw there were 3 complaints about the same issue. I had my father (91 years old) go into his Malwarebyets account and it did not allow him to use the new temporary code to have access to see if we could run a complete virus scan. Based on the assumption that this really is a scam; I have reached out via to Malwarebytes online support system to Jamie Hudson, VP Support Services and received a response that ticket 3073732 has been assigned (awaiting call back). I had my father completely erase his computer so the company that called him" Win Global Security System" could not have access to his computer. Finally reaching out to your organization to file this complaint. Thank you in advance for your help with this matter.
