Guy called and KNEW MY STUDENT LOAN INFORMATION DOWN THE PENNY, EVEN LOG IN INFORMATION. He sneakily weaseled his way into my trust and talked about how I could decrease my payments to $99 or even $0 per month if I claimed dependents. He encouraged me to exaggerate this for a better rate… Assured me they were approved as a partner of the Department of Education and I told him about how I’d been contacted by other companies who seemed like scams. This is the embarrassing part where I get pretty frustrated and want to break this criminal company and every person involved down with the law. He explained how those companies would ask for an upfront fee and that’s not what he was going to do… Problem was I was driving while this was happening and the guy sounded so reasonable, knowing all of my info. He talked his way into assuring my trust because they would only be processing my switch to an income-based repayment plan. I eventually ended up e-signing a document and gave him my credit card info – which was absolutely [censored]ic. Learning one scam at a time I trust too easily. Planning my take down of this company considering they’ve BEEN IN BUSINESS FOR 14 YEARS. Look on their website and they do this to people with disabilities as well. Makes me sick. Federal Student Aid needs to get it together and have better communication with students, government needs to crack down on fraud like this and if the ScamPulse.com has known for a while how are they not able to report and push for something to be done about these criminal organizations with US addresses. If "DPS" contacts you, don’t give them ANY of your info, but make sure to give the sales rep a serious guilt trip – keep them on the line as long as possible and make them feel like a terrible human being.
