Type of a scam Identity Theft

I received a call from someone claiming to work for Direct TV. They were calling to verify my account information and asked for my social. The number on the phone showed a local University, so I verified it was their actual number, somehow the scammer spoofed it. Do not give out your social security number when someone calls and ask for it. Don’t give out part of it or the last 4 of it either.
