Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

I received 2 letters with 2 checks each amounting 2,450.00 to get gift cards and shop at 2 local Walmarts in my town. The letters said to have an active bank account to deposit the checks. Then get the money to get gift cards and then text (323) 840-1332 to confirm the assignment has been completed to mystery shop. They want the silver strip scratched off and reveal the codes and to send a clear picture showing all 4 corners of the cards along with purchase receipts.
