Type of a scam Counterfeit Product

They called saying they were part of DirecTV and because of a new satellite my receiver wasn’t picking up when it was windy. For $95 they would upgrade my software and then I would get $15 a month off of my monthly bill. They had me unplug the receiver and then he would say that he is working on uploading the software. He would put me on hold and then come back and tell me what percent it was complete. He would ask me questions that DirecTV would already know from their computer system. After I hung up from him I got right on the phone to DirecTV and they said they were thankful I called because it was a scam. I called the scammer back on the number he left with me and it went to voice mail.
