Type of a scam Tech Support

A man with an Asian accent called the house phone around 5pm, saying there were errors and problems with our "Windows computer" the past few days. I wasn’t home and my mom doesn’t use the computer, so she asked for a name and phone number to call back. She said the man was hesitant but finally said his name was Dennis and I could call 1-800-102-1100. Well I did, and it’s not a real phone number. She also said she asked the name of the company a few times because it didn’t sound real, and he kept saying "Cyber Support!" My colleague received a similar phone call at work a few weeks ago about her home computer and said they kept asking for her IP address so they could remotely "fix" her computer. She refused and hung up.
