Type of a scam Employment

On December 2015 I applied for employment (can’t remember the website) for advertising; will pay $500 a wk advertising a wrap around on my vehicle. I recd an email on December 28, 2015 regarding the job and I recd a check for $1950 on January 12, 2016 (it was sent priority mail). The company is Curexo Technology Corp., 47320 Mission Falls Ct., Fremont, CA 94529. They emailed me to deposit the check in my acct; then withdraw $500 and send via Western Union, to an address (but I deleted the address). The email sent was from Gladys Adams (I deleted the email). I felt it was premature to send me the check; I was suspicious. I went to my bank and inquired about the cashier’s check from Chevron Credit Union, PO Box 2069, Oakland, CA 94804-2069; the teller at the bank stated it did not look good for a cashiers check. I did not deposit the check. Reported the company to the FTC.
